Physical properties of our hard porcelain

We use a precisely blended mixture of kaolin (50%), feldspar (25%), and quartz (25%) for the manufacture of our hard porcelain. These raw materials are finely milled in large drum mills, and then blended and forwarded to a magnetic conveyor, where iron particles are removed to prevent unsightly spotting on the final product. Other contaminants are then filtered out via a very fine-mesh vibrating screen. A hydraulic filter press extracts most of the water from the porcelain paste, while a vacuum press removes the air. Once the paste has run through these complex processes, it now becomes malleable and is ready for the manufacture of our high-quality porcelain products.

This unique manufacturing process allows the material to achieve very high tensile strength and robustness that makes our porcelain particularly durable. This workflow, rounded off by an elaborate glaze, makes the stoneware made from this natural high-quality material exceptionally durable and robust.

Instead of a transparent glaze, we use a tinted glaze for this collection, which gives these products their extraordinary colour.
